They sat on the rock...

Angels announcing his birth, warning the new scared parents that would forever be mentioned when recounting the story of our Lord. Angels used to warn and redirect.  They came to minister to our Lord,  attending to him after the enemy tried to tempt him. We see them in Gethsemane as Jesus cried our to the Father. They were sent to roll the stone and then to sit and watch as the story of our Resurrected God unfolds. They are by his Throne. We find them singing and praising the Lord. All this for you and me; a redemptive story to draw us to the Father.  Jesus obeying to the point of death; brought back to life; victory over death!  Can you see what he has done for us?  He loves us and he will be relentless in his pursuit for us.  Will you welcome HIM in today? Join all creation in worshiping the Resurrected King! I'm part of the story, are you?
  • The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Luke 1:28
  • But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. Luke 1:30-31
  • The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35
  • But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20-21
  • When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” Matthew 2:13
  • After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.” Matthew 2:19
  • ..and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him. Mark 1:13
  • Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. Matthew 4:11
  • “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. Luke:22:42-44
  • There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. Matthew 28:2
  • While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words. Luke 24:4-8
  • They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Acts 1:10-11
  • “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. Matthew 25:31
  • Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. Revelation 5:5-6a
  • Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying:“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped. Revelation 5:11-14

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 2:16
